University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

The ​University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is the largest academic health center in the Rocky Mountain region, and a world-class medical destination at the forefront of transformative education, science, medicine, and healthcare: Attendees will:

  • Tour the state-of-the-art facilities support building houses a variety of trade shops as well as a one-of-a-kind emergency operations center which both play a critical role in the daily operations of campus.
  • View the Nighthorse Campbell Native Health Building which incorporates Native American design and art in its construction and layout. Built as the campus was conducting a move from its old location in downtown Denver, it represents a unique point in the campus’ history and to its current health mission.
  • Explore the Fitzsimons Building which treated sick and injured World War II soldiers. The building also treated President Eisenhower in 1955 as he recovered from a heart attack. The tour will visit Eisenhower’s suite, which has been historically preserved.
  • Visit two of the most recently constructed facilities on campus – the 396,000 square foot Anschutz Health Sciences Building and the Campus Safety & Emergency Preparedness Services building – the latter of which is the first net zero energy facility in the entire University of Colorado system.

  • See the campus’ Central Utility Plant, where attendees will learn how the plant’s design and expansions have evolved as the CU Anschutz campus continues to grow.
